a hike in the trees

One day during hot June earlier this summer, we headed up to Flagstaff. We hiked a tail at Lamar Haines Wildlife Area off Snowbowl Rd. It is about 8600 ft. elevation, so it was cooler than Prescott. The trail goes through tall pine trees (“real trees” to us!) that smelled so good in the warm sunshine and pretty aspen trees. We saw wild iris flowers, butterflies, and ferns. It was a great trail to take our time on and enjoy the surroundings.

love the big Ponderosa Pine trees (and little baby ones too!)
